Initial Text

Wandering over the ship, you find an entrance into a storage area. Along with the food (long rotted away) and the water (evaporated), the room is filled with several large chests.

No one seems to have noticed you're here, but it's hard to say how long that might last.

Summary of Choices

  1. Search the chests - If you have a golden key gain 3-5 piles of ancient gold coins and 2-3 of: gold framed spectacles, inlaid saber, medicine pouch, misty gem, rotting journal, rum flask, sailor's charm, sea journal, treasured musket; otherwise fight a spectral sailor
  2. Hide and nap - Gain 30 HP and 3 Will or fight a rat king
  3. Walk away - Nothing or fight a spectral sailor

Choice Text and Results

Search the chests

(With a golden key in inventory)

After a bit of a search, you find one of the chests matches up with that golden key you've been carrying around. The chest pops open obediently, revealing a range of treasures.

Once you've taken your mind off the chest for a moment, however, both the chest and the key have vanished.

As you search the room for the easiest chest to open, a spectral form glides through the wall. He grimaces at you and mouths the word "mine" before launching to attack you.

As you lay down to rest, you hear a far off squeaking like rats. It's not a sound you're accustomed to hearing on this ship, but that still doesn't serve to prepare you for the mass of rats boiling from a nearby porthole.

Ignoring the chests, you curl up and take a short nap. Somewhat to your surprise, nothing bothers you.

You feel a bit better and less afraid of the ship.

As you walk away, back onto the deck, a spectral shape emerges from the mists. It shrieks and charges.
