Open Workstation: Extreme Bass XIII Game

This is one of four games you can play on the Open Workstation in the Open Computer Lab.

Extreme Bass XIII

First paragraph:

Looking around on the machine, you find a brand new virtual fishing game titled "Extreme Bass XIII." You log in and pretend to fish for a while.

Possible second paragraphs:

(With a fishing pole equipped)

Unfortunately, your pole won't help much here in virtual space.

(Or, with a extreme tackle box equipped)

Unfortunately, your tackle box won't help much here in virtual space.

(Or, with a fishing pole and extreme tackle box equipped)

Unfortunately, neither your pole nor your tackle box seem to help catch virtual fish.

(Or, with tackle box, line and hook effects, and pole equipped)

Unfortunately, none of your tools, not even your lucky tackle box, seem to help catch virtual fish.

(Or, with virtual pet bass running, the second paragraph becomes)

Your virtual bass invades the screen, giving you pointers on your fishing in its burbling voice.

(Or, with extreme bass player running - this overrides the message for virtual pet bass if both are running)

You switch the track on your bass player to the victory music and go for the kill. It's just you and the bass.

(Or, if your Code Finesse is higher than your Fishing skill rank?)

It's a good thing these are virtual fish rather than the real thing. You wouldn't have a chance with those, but the code really makes it all click here.

(Or, condition??? (I was getting the code message a couple times and then got this one)

It's probably for the best these are virtual fish rather than the real thing.

(Or)

You've got a bit of a feeling for these virtual fish, but you think you'd probably do better with the real thing.

Possible third paragraphs:

(If you fail to catch a fish at all)

After all your struggles, you're still not able to land a virtual bass. On the bright side, it was pretty good practice.

(If you catch a really tiny bass (seen at 5-9 pounds)

You're starting to get the hang of this! The game cheerfully reports you landed a <x> pound bass.

(If you catch a bass between ? and 49 pounds)

After your struggles, the game cheerfully reports you landed a <x> pound bass.

(If you catch a 50+ pound bass)

You think you broke the game. It says you found a <x> pound bass.

(If you catch a 50+ pound bass and tie your previous best)

You think you broke the game. It says you found a <x> pound bass, which ties your previous best.

Possible additional paragraphs:

(If you have not played Extreme Bass XIII yet this run)

The game presents a huge banner congratulating you on your new record… which is kind of weird because it's your first catch.

(If you don't beat your previous record)

Your previous best is still unmatched at <x> pounds.

(If you do beat your previous record)

It says you found a <x> pound bass, which beats your previous lifetime best of <y> pounds.

(If you beat the current high score)

An extended version of the victory theme plays while the game scrolls rapidly through a leaderboard with yourself at the top, beating this month's record of <x> pounds.

(If you do not already have access to the Extreme Fishing site and you have a gadget with a free processor)

Huh, it seems like they've set up a leader board for this. You go ahead and bookmark it.

You've gained access to a new site Extreme Fishing

You've earned 2 XP in Will

(Sometimes, if your fishing is below a certain rank?):

You've gotten better at fishing.
