Encounter Conditions

Progressing across floor from other side

Initial Text

You find your way to the western edge of the building. Stairs lead down, but there is nothing above you but a few jagged steel girders.

You can see the entire Slags from here. Drones move busily over the entire area, particularly the larger craters.

Closer to you, a set of deeply scarred stairs lead down a floor before another drop off.

Summary of Choices

  1. Fourth Floor - Enter Fourth Floor
  2. Climb Further - Gain 4 XP each in Strength and Reflexes, or (with low Strength?) lose ~50 HP

Choice Text and Results

Fourth Floor

You carefully make it down the western stairs, to the very mouth of a gaping hole. Stretching carefully, you're able to step through an empty door-frame onto the fourth floor.

(Enter Fourth Floor)

Climb Further

You climb onto the shattered girders overlooking the Slags and find a pretty good spot to observe from. There doesn't seem to be any way to get further up from here, but further east there's definitely a roof.

Eventually you lower yourself back down, having gotten the workout of your life.

You've earned 4 XP in Reflexes

You've earned 4 XP in Strength

Or, with Juryrigged Antenna and high Strength/Reflexes? (somewhat random, need about 10 each?)

You climb further and further, pulling yourself up on bare concrete ledges and rusting girders. Eventually, your antenna picks up a signal from one of the shipping drones far above.

The signal's weak, but you manage to establish a shaky connection after you find a ledge wide enough to use a computer from.

You follow the signal to <random High Altitude Shipping Drone Net site>.

Or, with Juryrigged Antenna and low Strength/Reflexes?

You grab onto a girder and make your way up, then leap to another, grabbing it by your fingertips. You claw and try to make your way up, but eventually slide off, feeling weightless for a moment.

Luckily, you only fall back to the fifth floor and not clear off the building. Still, the chunks of rubble protruding from your back are quite unpleasant.

You take 45-60 damage.
