BEFORE FLOODING

Resting in this location gives this message:

You clear off a few of the old subway benches and take a nap.

You regain 15 hit points!

or with REM timer and neural link, if the zone is unflooded and you are Etheric:

You find one of the abandoned subway benches, curl up, and flip on the REM timer. Haaaa… that was relaxing. Even the benches here are nicer.

You regain 30 hit points!

       Opponents        Encounter Text Notes
SewerMutant.jpg A humanoid shape lumbers out of the shadows. It seems shocked to see you, but snarls hungrily and charges, its mouth gaping in anticipation.
SewerMutant.jpg x2 You hear a hiss from behind you and turn to see a misshapen hulk lumbering towards you. As though in response to the hiss, a second figure drops down from the balcony overhead.
SewerMutant.jpg x3 As you make your way through the subway station, one of the twisted degenerates notices you, points one warped finger at you, and makes a shrill sound somewhere between a shout and a panicked animal cry.

Another figure emerges from a side tunnel and a third from a pile of nearby debris. All three descend on you with hatred in their sunken eyes.
Only if you are wearing a full containment suit.

If you lose:

The forms tear into your containment suit, rending through plastic and tubing. One lands a vicious blow, shattering the faceplate of your helmet.

They stop after destroying the suit and stare at you curiously, then wander off.
You found one of: unlined pants, unlined vest or metallic powder
Eclipse.jpg Aristocrat-Spectersmale.jpg A translucent shape glides out of a nearby wall, leaving a rime of frost as it passes. It looks like a distant echo of a finely dressed man, several centuries out of date.

He glowers at you, then his watch. "Yes, still enough time to clean up the station before the train gets here. Stand fast!"
If you have Writhing Flesh active?

Replaces Echoes of the Past?
Eclipse.jpg Aristocrat-Spectersmale.jpg A translucent shape glides out of a nearby wall, leaving a rime of frost as it passes. It looks like a distant echo of a finely dressed man, several centuries out of date.

He glowers at you, then his watch. "Yes, still enough time to teach you a lesson before the train gets here. Stand fast!"
Choosing to attack him in the Echoes of the Past encounter?
Eclipse.jpg Aristocrat-SpectersFemal.jpg Further down the tunnels, you find the woman from the video, waiting patiently for something. She turns towards you as you approach, but screams in horror and grabs the closest weapon… which happens to be a parasol. Unlock one instance of this by checking the monitors with the Shining Glasses equipped
jack-o-lanturn.jpg GuyinContainmentSuit.jpg You can hear a quiet conversation, well, at least half of one. You easily pick out the man in a Midgard-style containment suit, apparently having the muttered conversation into his radio.

"Base, this is Echo <x>, over."

(and one of the following conversations. You always hear the first sentence, but need higher stealth power to overhear the second or third (42 stealth power implies no additional messages). A guard does not repeat his conversation unless you have heard them all, in which case he seems to keep repeating the last one spoken.
"No signs of Echo 1 through <x-1>. Glad I insisted on the suit, though. This place is filthy… over."

His voice grows a little strained. "Sir, this whole damned place is weird, you're going to have to be more specific. Over."

I think you should haul your ass down here if you want to get some readings. Over."

"It seems your source might be good, sir. There is an abandoned subway terminal down here."

There's a long pause on his end. "Yes, sir. I know it's a urban legend. I know it'd flood."

"Ha ha, yeah, I'll tell you if you run into any albino crocodiles. Over."

"I think I figured out what happened to the rest of the team. There are… things, mutants, I guess, down here. And they are not friendly."

He gives a clipped laugh that echoes a bit in the tunnels. "I figured you asked, already got some, sir."

"Yes, with trace amounts of Slags contamination. Hard to say if it got this far or they're just hiding here."

"This looks like the place, sir. You want my opinion, you should contract some outside help."

"Let your pet killer do it. She can recruit me whenever she wants." He laughs nervously.

"Alright. I'm heading back up."

(and then:)
He freezes for a moment and spins around, peppering your area with needler fire.

(and, if you're wearing a full containment suit)

The fact you're wearing the same clothes doesn't seem to even phase him.

(upon victory:)
You check him over for a radio or comm, but don't find anything. It's possible he has an implanted one but, if he does, it's well hidden.
Only during Halloween 2011 after October 17th.
He stops showing up that day if you kill him, but his replacement (with a higher number) will appear the next day. It's even possible there's a global counter on it, but that's pretty speculative.

Eclipse.jpg sanke1.jpgsanke2.jpgsanke3.jpg Only with Will < 20

You take your time following the flooded trench. Even with the raw sewage, it's still nicer than a lot of Metros terminals.

But one moment you're appreciating the scenery… and the next the tiles under your feet are flowing like water, hurling you down into the trench. It's as vile as you'd expect, but gives you an excellent vantage point as three serpents of dull steel rise fluidly out of the filth.

The one nearest you crackles with energy you could mistake for electricity if it didn't cover the creature like a second skin. Flanking it are two more, looking down at you with grins of broken glass.

You've gained 1 energy of Submerged.

You've gained 20 energy of Vile Camouflage.
Eclipse.jpg croc%20of%20anger.jpg Everything is quiet along the trench, filled with sewage and indistinguishable objects… too quiet. Your paranoia is rewarded with a pale shape bursting from the sewage, snapping its massive jaws at your legs.
