| 2 Sewer Mutants | You hear a hiss from behind you and turn to see a misshapen hulk lumbering towards you. As though in response to the hiss, a second figure drops down from the balcony overhead. | |
| 3 Sewer Mutants | As you make your way through the subway station, one of the twisted degenerates notices you, points one warped finger at you, and makes a shrill sound somewhere between a shout and a panicked animal cry. Another figure emerges from a side tunnel and a third from a pile of nearby debris. All three descend on you with hatred in their sunken eyes. |
Only if you are wearing a containment suit. When fighting them and losing you get the following message: The forms tear into your containment suit, rending through plastic and tubing. One lands a vicious blow, shattering the faceplate of your helmet. They stop after destroying the suit and stare at you curiously, then wander off. You found: unlined pants or unlined vest or metallic powder |

- Dig peacefully - gain 3 XP in Perception, 4-5? of: ancient candybar, broken bottle, cheap pistol, dirty old trenchcoat, dirty rags, filthy old sack, headless doll, heavy pistol, knit cap, light armored vest, Metros Light, Omniwatch, pep pill, protein bar, riot baton, smelly old pants, whiskey bottle and 1-2? of: classic watch, cracked pipe, filthy duster, old spectacles, old cola bottle, ratty suit coat, ratty suit pants, ratty top hat OR (if you have asked a Subway Dweller about The Vigilante) Vigilante's Mask (one time only)
- Jump the other digger - Fight a sewer mutant
- Walk away - Nothing
Subway Dweller Conversation - Only if you have listened to the Vigilante Recording, have already encountered the cul-de-sac and are etheric
- Talk to him - Fight a Subway Dweller OR (if you have Writhing Flesh active and are wearing the ratty top hat, ratty suit pants and one of filthy duster, ratty suit coat or stained bandages)
- Where's the Vigilante? - Allows you to find the Vigilante's mask by digging in the dumpster
- Didn't I just kill you? - Learn that cutting them makes more Sewer Mutants
- What's going on? - Learn that the Subway is growing
- Who are you? - Suggestion that people "up top" are broken people
- Sorry, gotta run
- Charge him - Fight a Subway Dweller
- Leave him be
